Kripalu Yoga
Kripalu Yoga is a unique approach to Hatha Yoga originally created by Yogi Amrit Desai. Rooted in the ancient vedic scriptures and teachings of India, Kripalu Yoga is a systematic means of integrating the body, the mind, and the emotions through gentle, meditative yoga postures. In its advanced form it is a spontaneous continual flow of asanas guided by an inner wisdom without the assistance of the conscious mind. The practice of Kripalu yoga concerns the whole human being: physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual. Through the movements and postures combined with simple breathing techniques, you release physical and emotional tension, the mind calms its restless nature, and the inner, ever present spirit is experienced more fully. It is a "Meditation in Motion" form of yoga. You become spiritually awake and mentally present in a relaxed body.

Yin Yoga
Yin Yoga is a slow, deep, meditative style of yoga. Unlike typical Hatha yoga that focuses on stretching and strengthening the muscles of the physical body, Yin focuses more on the connective tissue within the body and the flow of pranic energy throughout the meridian lines. The yoga postures are done from a seated position or laying down position, and are held for several minutes. You will experience deep relaxation, ease and lightness in the body, and flexibility in the joints. This class is appropriate for all levels.

Meditation
Meditation is the art of heightened concentration and relaxation that enables the participant to find an inner stillness that connects them to the spiritual Self, the Atman. The purpose of meditation is to develop buddhi, the mental power which enables one to discriminate between the eternal and the temporary.

In the beginning stages of meditation you become aware of the "witness consciousness" by simply observing the thoughts and emotions passing through you, with out attachment or judgment of them. Other meditation techniques use the practice of focusing on a single object, thought, or sound to draw the mind to one-pointedness. Typically a mantra or a breathing technique is used to concentrate the mind so that it becomes quieter, and a deeper stillness and oneness with the universe can be experienced. The mantra used in the Kripalu Yoga lineage is OM NAMO BHAGAVATE VASUDEVA.

Reiki Healing
Reiki healing is a very powerful, laying on of hands healing technique. It originated thousands of years ago as a Tibetan Buddhist practice, and was rediscovered in the late 1800’s by Dr. Mikao Usua, a Japanese Buddhist.

Reiki is a special kind of life force that can only be channeled by someone that has been attuned to it. It is not taught in the way other healing techniques are taught, but rather it is transferred to the student by a Reiki Master during an attunement process. This process opens the crown, heart, and palm chakras and creates a special link between the student and the Reiki source.

Throughout the healing session energy will flow through the healer and into the energy field of the client, charging them with positive energy. As the vibrations in their energy field shift, the Reiki energy heals the energy pathways throughout the client’s physical, emotional, and mental bodies, thus allowing the life force to flow in a healthy and natural way.

The Ancient Teachings of Yoga Nidra
Yoga Nidra begins with a deep, physical relaxation, followed by a systematic technique that consciously shifts the mental awareness inward to the subconscious mind. It is a dynamic, yet easy process of active, concentrated awareness using guided imagery and the use of “resolves”. Resolves are concise, positive mental statements, focused on the internal subconscious mind with the intent of making specific changes to the acquired belief system that is continually and habitually influencing thoughts and feelings, and consequently, all the actions, choices, and decisions in the outer world. When practiced sincerely, outdated belief systems that no longer serve your highest good are transformed.

Yoga Nidra is the state of awareness between waking and dreaming, between the conscious and subconscious mind. Psychologists call this state of awareness the hypnagogic state. During this state of awareness the brain emits alpha waves. It usually only lasts a few minutes, but the intent of practicing the technique known as Yoga Nidra is to extend the state of introverted awareness while maintaining external awareness. In Yoga Nidra the student is in a deep, relaxed state while listening to and staying actively, mentally engaged with the ongoing verbal directions of the facilitator.

The practice of Yoga Nidra brings awareness to and from the subconscious mind, allowing the opportunity for tremendous shifts in perception. In this way, we are able to consciously make permanent changes in our mental habits; personally changing old, outdated belief systems that do not support our evolved conscious intentions. The deeper teachings of yoga tell us that deep rooted samskaras continually affect our thoughts and actions, whether we are aware of them or not, and they can be transformed through the sincere practice of Yoga Nidra.

Restorative Yoga
Restorative Yoga is an experience of deliberate stillness. Through the use of a variety of props to include pillows, yoga straps, yoga blocks, and blankets the physical body is fully supported in each of the yoga postures, allowing for a deep physical stretch and a profound relaxation at the same time. The postures consist of traditional poses, involving backbends, forward bends, twists, and inversions, but unlike traditional yoga styles, the poses are each held from 8 to 12 minutes. A typical 2 hour session will only consist of about 6 to 8 postures. The use of props provides the comfort of total support, enabling your body and mind to let go into the experience as you open, twist, or fold.

This outward letting go in the physical body shifts the consciousness inward, leading to a deeper connection to what is happening in the mind and in the heart. Tensions stored deep within the physical body are released, the emotional body feels soothed and strengthened, the experience of clarity and openness comes to the mental body, and the spiritual body becomes alive, awakened, and present. A deeper, meditative awareness of the True Self is experienced.
